XIX Summer School 2026

General information

The MESIO UPC-UB Summer School is a specialized training program that offers additional professional and research training in the Master's degree in Statistics and Operations Research (MESIO UPC-UB), Master's degree in Advanced Mathematics and Mathematical Engineering (MAMME), Bachelor's degree in Statistics (UB-UPC), Bachelor's degree in Mathematics (UPC), Bachelor's degree in Data Science and Engineering (UPC), and the PhD in Statistics and Operations Research of the UPC.

The courses are open to students from other bachelor’s and master’s degrees, members of other universities as well as researchers and practitioners working in private and public institutions who need apply statistical or machine/deep learning methodologies in their daily work.

 The Summer School courses are taught by renowned visiting professors as well as professors of the UPC and UB. You can have look at the courses and instructors of the previous editions.

The 2026 edition includes 12 activities scheduled from June 22th to July 10th, 2026. These courses will be conducted 'face-to-face' and will also be streamed live.

 You are requested to use your own laptop. A few days before the course starts, students will be provided with the information required to participate in the course, including the software needs.

 Prices per  course (the price is the same whether you attend the course in person or via streaming)

• FME students (MESIO, MAMME, GM, GE, GCED with current registration) : 100€ per course
• FME PhD students (DEIO, DMA, DBIO) : 100€ per course 
• UPC & UB students: 150€ per course
• Part-time UPC & UB teachers ("Professors associats i substituts"): 150€ per course
• Full-time UPC & UB teachers, with guaranteed place in the course: 150€ per course
• Students from other universities: 200€ per course
• SoCE - Societat Catalana d'Estadística members: 300€ per course
• External participants: 400€ per course
• Full-time UPC & UB: free (subject to availability).

A copy of a current document justifying the selected collective (enrolment, job contract, registration, proof of membership etc.) should be uploaded in the registration process.

Students of the Master in Statistics and Operations Research (MESIO) that take several courses of the Summer School can validate these for the course Seminari Summer School. There are two different options:

• 2 courses approved - 3 ECTS credits
• 3 courses approved - 5 ECTS credits

Application and enrolment

Application and enrolment: You can enrol each course until 5 days before its start date.

Registration

Observations:

• Maximum capacity: 35 participants per course.
• Minimum enrolment: Courses with 5 or fewer students will be cancelled.
