Data de matrícula: Del 7 al 15 de setembre del 2010

Objectius del curs:
In this short course, the primary focus will be on parametric, semi-parametric and non-parametric inferential methods in the context of survival analysis. I shall begin the course with a short description of ordered data and introduce different forms of censoring that could arise in practice. Then, I shall take on different problems of interest in the area of survival analysis and detail developments on parametric, semi-parametric and non-parametric techniques. These will include comparison of treatments, hazards models, cure rate models, and competing risks analyses. I shall present results on the estimation of model parameters as well as on tests of hypotheses of different types. After discussing the relative merits of these procedures through Monte Carlo simulations, I shall use specific real-life examples to illustrate the usefulness of the procedures described.
